Description
Noemi Schembri was born in San Cataldo, Italy in 1983 and began taking guitar lessons at the age of 11. In 2006 she earned a degree in Industries and Wood Technologies at the University of Padua. Her encounters with master luthiers and musicians alike catalyzed her passion for guitars further and in 2010 she built her first guitar in Michele Della Giustina’s workshop.
In 2011, Noemi moved to Canada and received instruction by the luthier Sergei De Jonge at his workshop. At the end of 2011 she returned to Italy exhibiting at national and international fairs and building guitars in her own workshop. This guitar has a spruce doublet-top with back and sides made of Indian rosewood. The back is reinforced with crossed wooden bars to give more projection to the guitar. A powerful guitar with not to deep basses like often cedar double top guitars have. The guitar has a hand polished French polish finish.
