I approached the production of classical concert guitars in 1998, after enrolling at the school of lutherie in Milan with the idea of building something else in mind. Thanks to attending a number of luthiers’ workshops, it was easy to fall in love with an instrument that until then I had considered of marginal importance, but I was getting to know and increasingly appreciate its many qualities of tone and expression, With its schools of thought and various ideas, from there I set off on a quest which, starting with the historical instruments of Torres Hauser and Simplicio, led me to get to know luthiers of all ages, from the most ancient to the most contemporary. All this in an attempt to understand where the ideas and intuitions that have contributed to the development of the instrument as we know it today have come from and in what direction they can be pushed, and how best to apply them in the construction of my guitars… My conclusions, however, cannot be expressed in words, as the only voice that can tell them is that of my instruments.
The instruments I build are the result of a careful and painstaking manual workmanship that allows me to follow each step in a precise and careful manner. This, combined with the use of selected and carefully seasoned woods, guarantees the guitars I build are of high quality both in terms of sound and structure. My guitars are made using non-synthetic glues and varnished with resins of mature origin, while the woods are selected so that there are no essences coming from cultivations, which guarantees a quality of growth totally spontaneous and not forced, all this guarantees a further quality of sound as well as aesthetics.
