Marco Gilioli – Guitar Maker

Marco Gilioli was born on November 19, 1987, in Milan. He has always been passionate about music, starting his studies in classical music first with the piano, which he pursued for over 15 years, and then with the guitar. Driven by a strong passion for this instrument, he ventured into the world of guitar making almost by chance.

He enrolled at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, where he graduated in 2011 under the guidance of master luthiers Lorenzo Lippi, Tiziano Rizzi, and Gabriele Negri. During his final year at school, he attended a workshop by Maestro Mirko Migliorini, and it was during this time that a genuine passion for the classical guitar was ignited, fascinated by the infinite tonal nuances and the study of sound.

From that moment on, he delved into the study of the great violin makers of the past, with a special focus on the Spanish tradition, and particularly on the one who perhaps more than anyone else revolutionized the construction and sound of the classical guitar: Antonio de Torres.

His instruments are crafted using traditional methods, with an emphasis on the sound and the needs of the guitarist: a sweet, soft, and well-balanced tone, featuring deep basses and resonant trebles, accompanied by remarkable playability, ease of execution, and projection.

Considerable attention and care are dedicated to the realization of finishes and details.

Lastly, great attention is also devoted to details and craftsmanship.
