He graduated with full marks in 2022 after four years of study in the construction and restoration of plucked string instruments. In 2023, supported by the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and its Una scuola, un lavoro programme, he joined the Milan workshop of Marco Bortolozzo as an apprentice. Santambrogio now works from his own workshop in Desio, dedicating himself to guitar making, repair, and restoration.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003ch3\u003eAbout the guitar\u003c\/h3\u003e\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eCompleted in 2026 as instrument No. 15, this guitar is based on a design by José Luis Romanillos, while its soundboard structure follows a layout remarkably close to traditional Torres construction. Its seven-fan bracing system, built without a bridge plate, gives the torrefied Val di Fiemme spruce soundboard an immediate and sensitive response. The voice is brilliant, elegant, and clearly articulated, with exceptionally precise separation between individual notes. At the same time, rounded overtones lend the sound a mellow and smooth character, preventing the upper register from becoming hard or excessively bright. The trebles are focused and singing, while the basses remain warm, round, and well balanced. Sustain is generous, and the sound retains a notably consistent intensity across different strings and positions, allowing melodic lines to move through the registers without abrupt changes in weight or character. A broad range of colours emerges readily through changes of touch, giving the player considerable freedom to shape phrasing and timbre. The quarter-sawn Honduras mahogany neck supports a strong, immediate attack and excellent structural stability, while the 51 mm nut provides a slightly narrower and comfortable left-hand feel.
