Description
Adriano Devoto is a young luthier from northern Italy who proves great craftsmanship and impressive prowess. He was a student of the legendary Italian luthier Enrico Bottelli and you can clearly see the influences of Bottelli’s art in the guitars created in Adriano’s workshop. Adriano draws inspiration from the traditional guitar building heritage, but also brings his own ideas of an ideal sound to the building process.
This brand new guitar numbered 2119, is a fantastic instrument built in the most authentic Italian style: precision, lightness, and elegance. Supposed to be finished at the end of 2021, hence the date on the label, this guitar was completed in 2022 and came directly to us from Adriano’s workshop.
It has immaculate trebles with a glassy sound that projects with a full richness. Smooth, airy basses perfectly complement the singing trebles. When played, one senses a responsive, lightweight guitar that reacts quickly to the guitarist’s touch. The beautifully carved headstock is obviously inspired by Santos Hernandez, and also, from a tonal point of view, this elegant Italian guitar shows parallels to instruments made by Santos Hernandez.
