Description
Annette Stephany has built guitars since 2003. After three years if apprenticeship at the ”Fachhochschule für Geigenbau und Zupfinstrumentenmacher” (college of violin and plucked instrument making ) in Mittenwald with the masters Thassilo Meyer and Leo Sprenger she worked for the master of violin and guitar making Lorenzo Frignani in Modena (Italy) from 2006 to 2009. There, Annette was able to gain deeper insights into the restauration and conservation of old plucked instruments. This guitar is based on a guitar of Manuel Ramirez from 1910. Annette had the opportunity to study the original for many months when she worked in Lorenzo Frignani’s workshop. Minor modifications were made as for example the adding of a 20th fret and the modern bridge. The sides of the original are slightly smaller as well.
The guitar is completely French polished and has Oldystyle Rubner tuners with mounted shafts. Annete Stephany: “I like this model a lot, I am an absolute traditionalist when it comes to guitars and love to build upon the experience of the (in my eyes) really excellent Spanish guitar builders and also strive to achieve a sound character that approaches the early Spanish guitar sound.” A hard-shell case is included.
