Description
Carl Hermann Schäfer started making guitars in 1966. He did his apprenticeship under the guidance of master guitar maker Ernest Köröskeny and later studied under master guitar maker Dieter Hopf. After having worked in Hopf’s workshop from 1971 to 1994, he opened his own in Oberneisen and moved to Niederbrechen, Germany, five years later. He has focused in the craft of making the most wonderful replicas one could ever wish for. Not only are the instruments extremely well built, they also offer the real sound of master instruments from the past.
This instrument is special due to the fact that Carl Hermann Schäfer was in possession of the original Ignacio Fleta from 1969 owned and played by Andrés Segovia, the famous original instrument No. 500. It is build true to the original in the most splendid way imaginable, gorgeous details and top grade woods only. Strong, firm and bold basses paired with almost angelic trebles makes for an inspiring guitar. The voices are perfectly balanced and the harmonies ring out like in a big cathedral.
