Description
This D&A (Dominique and Arnauld) Roudhloff guitar was built around 1845. Dominique and Arnauld were the sons of Francois Roudhloff, who was a very famous luthier from Mirecourt. His sons went from Mirecourt to London where they worked as guitar makers and as guitar dealers.
When looking at the high-quality materials that were used for this guitar, and when taking a closer look how elaborated this guitar is from in- and outside, we can only estimate what great skills these two artisans had. The top of this guitar is in remarkable condition and has only one repaired crack on each side of the frets. Back and sides are made of impressive looking rosewood that only shows some little perfectly repaired cracks that are hard to see. The high quality tuning machines are original and decorated with floral motifs.
