Description
Here is a beautiful guitar from Winnipeg, Canada made by luthier Daryl Perry. Since 1982, Daryl focussed on building stringed instruments and is today one of Canada’s finest makers for classical guitars. He works in the tradition of the great masters of the nineteenth and twentieth century, working mostly with hand tools and giving special attention to the properties of each single piece of wood. Great guitarists such as Marcin Dylla play on Daryl’s guitars and his instruments are now rare and very requested.
What a gorgeous maple guitar. This Torres-inspired concert guitar, number 241, comes directly from Daryl’s workshop and shows a unique maturity, both in its design and sound. On this example, numerous of Torres’ favorite decorative motifs can be found – meanders, ears of wheat, and checkerboard patterns. Daryl is clearly a master at creating a contemporary instrument with an instantly recognizable sound quality of times past. Even the playing feel is remarkably close to actual golden age Spanish guitars. We are very pleased to offer this distinct gem in our showroom.
