Description
Didier built this romantic guitar around 1815. It is stamped inside with the name of the builder. The guitar is in very good original condition and is perfectly playable. The rectangular ebony bridge is decorated with tendril ornaments that lead away from the saddle: You can see vine leaves with grapes. This ‘grapevine motif’ was a very popular in Mirecourt and it replaced the in previous years often used ‘floral motif’. Back and sides are made of solid maple and the top is made of spruce.
