Description
Dominique Delarue is one of the most respected active French guitar makers. Numerous professional guitarists around the world have been using his guitars extensively since the 1980s. Dominique Delarue has especially made a reputation in France, where the amount of classical guitar teachers playing his guitars is stunning. Delarue’s instruments have a unique tone with great projection and considerable generosity for both the guitarist and the audience.
This Dominique Delarue comes directly from his workshop, located in the southwest of France. Its construction was started in 2020 and completed in 2021, therefore it bears the year 2020 on the label. This quite unique instrument has single sides and an overall lighter construction than Delarue’s previous double-sided models. The spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides provide charm, elegance, and refinement to the tone of this instrument. Another interesting detail is the slightly reduced bracing, which omits a bar under the bridge for more flexibility and delicacy in timbre. For the guitarist, such a tone in the treble is truly inspiring. Its timbral warmth coupled with exceptional fullness allows for excellent phrasing. We are pleased to present the first Dominique Delarue in some time and are thrilled with this light, supple, and poetic-sounding guitar.
