Description
François Leonard has been building classical guitars for almost 20 years now and lives and works in his workshop in Lorient, France. He had the opportunity to learn from many guitar builders in England and also worked in the Lakewood workshop in Germany. He received support from Dominique Field as an occasional mentor, and so it is no surprise that the aesthetics and structural concept of his guitars are strongly influenced by French masters such as Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field.
This superb guitar comes directly from the workshop of Francois Regis Leonard. It combines a very homogeneously grained cedar top with a lightweight spruce lattice bracing. The back and sides are made of Indian rosewood and display beautiful colors from coffee to salt butter caramel. This Leonard guitar is, as always, built with excellent craftsmanship, and the French shellac polish has also been perfectly executed. The bridge has an ingenious compensation that ensures a perfect intonation over the whole fretboard. Finally, the optimal string action offers the guitarist both distinguished playing comfort and extensive dynamic possibilities.
One can find in this instrument all the qualities that characterize a great concert guitar. The volume is impressive, and the sound quality is enchanting. In addition, the wide range of timbres and the fast response of the soundboard make it a truly versatile guitar. Also, its warm, cedar-wood typical tone with optimal clarity and separation achieves a perfect balance. Once again, it is our great pleasure to offer this outstanding guitar, built by one of the most renowned French luthiers of the present day.
