Description
Fritz Ober was born in Rosenheim in 1955 and learned to play the guitar at an early age. He built his first instruments in the 70’s based on guitar building books. Later he trained with the instrument maker Helmut Buchsteiner and initially concentrated on the construction of lutes. According to his own statements, the skills he acquired were decisive for his current approach to guitar making, which was inspired above all by old masters such as Antonio de Torres. His workshop is located in Munich.
This fantastic guitar is almost in pristine condition and has a stunning four piece CITES certified Brazilian rosewood back. This beautiful A. Torres model has a deep F# air resonance and a traditional seven fan bracing. It has a sweet rounded tone and plenty of sound-colour possibilities. Its impressive balance and great ease of playing, as well as its clear and singing tone, are typical of Fritz Ober’s guitars which are surely among the finest German guitars of our time.
