Description
Furch Guitars is a Czech guitar manufacturer founded in 1981 by Frantisek Furch. Furch began to make his own instruments as he had no access to quality ones. Starting under Czechoslovakian socialist rule, he originally hid his craft from officials. As restrictions eased in 1987, his instruments became available publicly. Furch guitars have an excellent reputation and are also played by great artists such as Suzanne Vega. This G25SR is a Grand Auditorium from 2016 and in pristine condition. The top is made of fine Sitka Spruce and back and sides are made of Indian Rosewood. The beautiful inlaid work on fingerboard, headstock, and bridge are particularly striking. The sound is very direct with crisp trebles and “woody” mids and basses which unite into a powerful sound when strummed. The guitar is marvelously adjusted and is also easy to play on the higher frets. The thick neck profile and the taut stringing invite to strong and expressive playing, but the guitar responds directly to soft picking as well and gives a long sustain. The L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup provides a beautifully natural sound on stage. An original Hiscox case is included.
