Description
“Liuteria Lodi” was founded in the first years of the 1970’s by the two brothers Leandro and Maurizio. As sons of a furniture builder and restorer, they learned the art of wood workmanship in their father’s workshop. The brothers got in close contact with the famous guitar maker Alan Wilcox from Florence around 1975 and simultaneously started their careers as luthiers.
Gabriele Lodi, son of Maurizio, started to work in the workshop at an early age and developed his own style over the years. Studying the old spanish guitar construction throughout extensive restoration works, he acquired a wide knowledge and understanding of the classical guitar. His guitars are very thought after as they represent a sound ideal, combining purity of tone, richness of timbre and a modern playability. This 2016 “Contemporary Model” is an absolute masterpiece. It was built with the finest Indian rosewood quality and a thoroughly selected bearclawed spruce top. Sound wise, it is a wonder of richness and subtlety. The tuning machines are made by Alessi. A hard-shell case is included.
