Description
Lowden Guitars are built exclusively in the George Lowden Guitar studio workshops in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland – the culmination of over 30 years of design and innovation by luthier George Lowden. Under his direct supervision, a selected team of skilled craftsmen has created every guitar and each one bears George Lowden’s signature.
The 12 Fret model is based on the S size body. Whilst the scale length (630mm) remains the same as the regular 14 fret S model, the bridge has been relocated and the soundbox uniquely voiced to create a guitar that offers something different to anything else in the Lowden range. The location of the bridge on the soundboard increases the guitars midrange punch and despite its more compact feel, the 12 Fret offers projection and vibrancy more akin to a guitar with a much larger body.
Playing this S35 C is great fun. Due to the short scale and ergonomic bod-shape, the guitar is very comfortable to play. Furthermore, the guitar is very versatile, as one can elicit percussive tones as well as a nice warm sound from it.
