Description
As the son of a toymaker, Jake Fuller learned his craft skills in his father’s workshop. When he started playing classical guitar at the age of 16, he had the idea to combine his two interests, playing the guitar and working with wood. After graduating from London Guildhall University with a degree in musical instrument technology, he opened his own workshop. There he concentrated especially on the production of light Spanish Torres guitars.
This charming guitar, number 120, comes directly from Jake’s workshop. It is even lighter in weight than the previous guitar we received from him and shows exceptional responsiveness. To achieve these properties, Jake has taken special care, and it can even be seen that the inner part of the ebony fingerboard has been carved out and replaced with a light-coloured wood, maintaining rigidity and reducing weight. The back and sides are made of finely grained cherry wood, and the green inlays surrounding them make for a very traditional and Torres-like look. Overall, this is a notably playable guitar with excellent response and sonority, suitable for any repertoire.
