Description
Initially, Jeroen Hilhorst worked in the software industry and holds an academic degree in Dutch linguistic and literature. Both, his father and grandfather were carpenters, and he spent time in their workshop to experiement with woods and deepened his technical knowledge. Since 1989 he has built his own guitars, and has thereby combined manual skills with scientific approach.
This guitar from 2007 has a modern design. The top is made of spruce, the back and sides are made of rosewood. The sound is pleasantly dark and warm, and mellow as well as forceful. The raised fingerboard enables the player to use the higher frets. Furthermore, a bevel prevents the arm from resting on the top and thereby muffling the sound. The tuners are made by Sloane. Beside some signs of usage, the guitar is in good condition.
