Description
As a passionate guitarist, he discovered his interest in guitar building in his youth. After an apprenticeship as a carpenter, he followed his fascination for wood and sound and completed his training as a plucked instrument maker at the technical college in Mittenwald in 2007. From 2013 to 2016, he deepened his knowledge of acoustics, restoration, innovative construction methods, and musical instrument design in the following study program for musical instrument construction at the college of Markneukirchen. As a result of his hard work, he successfully completed the master craftsman’s examination in Mittenwald in 2017.
This guitar is constructed according to the Spanish construction method. The top is domed, especially light and stiff, and built with a 7-fan bracing. The instrument is the result of combining traditional Spanish guitar making with innovative methods of today’s musical instrument building. It is the most precious model by J. Schneele and has a unique design. This Concert model is designed in the “Golden Ratio”. The proportions of the body, the dimensions of the bridge, the head, and the rosette are related to the length of the scale. The bracing of the soundboard is structured in harmonious sounding proportions in order to create a sound image that is extremely balanced.
Many details such as the raised fingerboard, the slight radius of the fretboard, and the sober and thoughtful decoration show the modern commitment of this craftsman. Both the power of expression and the malleability of the tone are the main strengths of this guitar. It is truly an instrument that can impress in a concert hall and offers the guitarist complete freedom in terms of timbre, tone color, and dynamics. In addition, the compromise between responsiveness, sustain, and richness of tone is very well achieved. And finally, this instrument seduces and convinces even the most demanding guitarist with its impeccable playing comfort.
