Description
Kazuo Sato is an internationally recognized luthier who apprenticed with Kuniharu Nobe in Japan from 1965 to 1971. He then joined David Rubio’s workshop in England, where he worked with another notable luthier: Paul Fischer. In 1974, he established his own workshop in Germany. To this day, he is still based in Germany, has now been building high-quality guitars for over 50 years, and meanwhile also works together with his son Hideo Sato.
This beautiful 2015 Standard model is in excellent condition with only superficial playing marks on the top. The construction of the soundboard, with its unique and intricate bracing pattern, combines the concepts of fan bracing and lattice bracing. The result is an excellent separation of voices and a remarkably crisp and clear first string with a strong projection. The tonal variety combined with the expressive, powerful and elegant timbre is particularly striking.
