Description
Kazuo Sato, born in Tokyo in 1946, is an internationally acclaimed luthier who apprenticed with Kuniharu Nobe in Japan from 1965 to 1971. Thereafter, he went to the workshop of David Rubio in England, where he worked with another renowned guitar maker, Paul Fischer. In 1974, he established his own workshop in Germany, where he still resides and where he now works with his son Hideo Sato.
This exquisite guitar features a top crafted from fine Alpine spruce, known for its superb sound quality, paired beautifully with the aesthetically pleasing and sonorous Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The overall appearance exudes refined elegance, enhanced by the shellac finish that not only protects but also adds a lustrous sheen to the guitar. Further complementing its sophisticated design are the Alessi tuners, renowned for their precision and reliability, which contribute to the guitar’s premium feel and ease of tuning.
Sonically, it delivers a well-rounded sound that is both rich and nuanced, ensuring that each note is articulated with clarity and depth. The trebles are particularly noteworthy for their clear and expressive character, perfectly complemented by the creamy and resonant basses. This harmonious blend of highs and lows makes the guitar not only a joy to listen to but also a delight to play. Its very direct response enhances its versatility, making it an inspiring choice for a wide range of musical styles and playing techniques.
