Description

Kevin Aram was born in 1949 and grew up in Clipstone in the UK. He started building guitars full-time in 1978 and built more than 300 guitars since then. He also had the chance to study and restore great XIXth and XXth century instruments built by Vicente Arias, Domingo Esteso, Santos Hernandez, Manuel Ramirez and José Luis Romanillos for example. Kevin Aram focuses on the construction of guitars in the Torres tradition since 1991. Julian Bream famously owned a 1980s Kevin Aram guitar and recorded his 1988 instrument on his CD: “Julian Bream – La Guitarra Romantica”.

“Frankie” 4 Forty Series guitar. This rare piece, the first of four, celebrates the four-decade-long journey of Kevin Aram as a professional guitar maker. Accompanied by a signed, hand-written letter from Kevin, “Frankie” is a testament to his dedication and expertise in guitar making. Featuring a traditional 7-fan bracing, the guitar demonstrates Aram’s commitment to both tradition and innovation. Known for its aesthetic beauty, playability, reliability, and impressive projection, every Kevin Aram creation offers exceptional musicality – a standard that “Frankie” proudly upholds.

The guitar’s design is timeless, blending elegance and acoustic quality in a harmonious marriage. Its body resonates between F# and G, delivering a rich, old-world sound. Expect deep, resonant basses, clear trebles, and all the modern features sought after by today’s discerning guitarists. Perfect as a concert guitar, it showcases the evolution of classical musical instruments.

“Frankie” is in excellent condition, with minimal playing marks, signifying its well-preserved quality. The wood combination is a unique blend of English yew on the back and sides and a Cedar soundboard – all contributing to its refined sound and charming aesthetics. Despite a few playing marks and typical string dings behind the bridge, the guitar maintains an outstanding overall condition. A brilliant fusion of traditional and modern, it stands as a symbol of superior craftsmanship, design, and acoustic brilliance.
