Description
Lester Devoe is an American luthier from the central coast of California. He began studying classical guitar, and later flamenco, in the early 1970s and quickly got interested in guitar making. He has been building guitars since 1975 and was greatly inspired by his guitar teacher’s 1924 Santos Hernandez. Starting with this aesthetic, he gradually developed his own ideas and style. His guitars were and still are played worldwide by flamenco and classical guitarists such as Sabicas, Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo, Grisha Goryachev, Pavel Steidl and many more.
This fine flamenco guitar was built by Lester Devoe in 2015. It is a gorgeous instrument with a fine handmade rosette, high-class Alessi tuners and spruce top with an intriguing yellow color. It has a beautifully warm and percussive tone and reacts very direct to the stroke, which is very typical of Devoe’s guitars. The sustain is impressive and this Flamenca Negra is a truly singing instrument. Playability is perfect with a very low action making it highly inspiring to play fast scales in an easy manner. It is in perfect condition and ready to be played and recorded.
