Description
Marco Gilioli is a very talented Italian luthier based near Milan, Italy. His instruments are built according to the traditional Spanish method, focusing on both the sound and the needs of the guitarist. A sweet, soft, and well-balanced tone, with deep basses and clear trebles, characterize his guitars. The playability and sound projection are also very important for Marco. As a result, his instruments are very charming, easy to play, and suitable for concert players as well as for amateurs of fine guitars.
This guitar is the first Torres model that we receive from Marco, and it is truly magnificent. It was made as a tribute to Antonio de Torres, the father of the modern guitar, and is a beautifully decorated replica of an 1867 Antonio de Torres. A mesmerizing Birdseye maple has been used for the back and sides, and the overall decoration is rich and detailed. The air resonance of the body is very low, like that of the original, giving it a deep and authentic old-world sound.
