Description

Matthias “Matteo” Hartig is a German luthier from Glattbach, Bavaria. Just like the famous Robert Bouchet, it was only in his forties that he discovered his true vocation in guitar making. His inspiration is the sound of the instruments of the old masters. Especially Torres, Enrique Garcia, Antonio Emilio Pascual and Richard Jacob “Weißgerber”. Matteo is dedicated to traditional building methods, using almost exclusively hide glue for his construction and shellac for the finish.

This classical guitar boasts a simple yet elegant design that showcases its solid traditional influence, making it a visually striking instrument that captivates both the eyes and the ears. At the heart of this exceptional guitar is its Bearclaw spruce soundboard, known for its unique grain patterns and superior tonal qualities. The fan bracing system ensures optimal resonance and balance, enhancing the guitar’s sound. The back and sides are crafted from exquisite Indian rosewood, which not only adds to its visual appeal but also contributes to the richness and warmth of its tone. With a comfortable 65 cm scale and a weight of around 1590 grams, the Matthias Hartig 2023 No. 76 guitar is an excellent all-rounder for ambitious classical guitarists seeking an instrument that performs exceptionally across various playing styles. One of the most striking features of this guitar is its beautiful lyricism in voicing. Playing the Matthias Hartig 2023 No. 76 is a delightful experience, as it effortlessly captures the nuances of every note and brings the music to life with an enchanting expressiveness. In summary, the Matthias Hartig 2023 No. 76 guitar is a remarkable instrument that combines simplicity and tradition in its design with exceptional performance and playability.
