In the early 1980s he started a unique and ambitious project: he travelled through Spain, France and Portugal with a “Mobile Guitar Workshop”. This mobile workshop allowed him to share his expertise with a wider audience and to present his skills in new settings. Wichmann eventually settled in Hamburg, Germany, where he opened his first workshop. Over the years, he has established a reputation as a skilled luthier, producing replicas of historic instruments and his own concert models.
