Description
Michael Wichmann is an experienced luthier who has dedicated his life to refining the art of guitar making. He discovered his love of guitar making at the age of 25 and has been working to improve his skills for over 40 years. Early in his career, he travelled throughout Europe to learn and teach in various workshops. Wichmann was taught by accomplished guitar makers and gained valuable experience in about 20 workshops. In the early 1980s he started a unique and ambitious project: he travelled through Spain, France and Portugal with a “Mobile Guitar Workshop”. This mobile workshop allowed him to share his expertise with a wider audience and to present his skills in new settings. Wichmann eventually settled in Hamburg, Germany, where he opened his first workshop. Over the years, he has established a reputation as a skilled luthier, producing replicas of historic instruments and his own concert models. His attention to detail and commitment to quality have made him a sought-after guitar maker within the community.
