Description
Nils Schebesta is a talented young guitar maker who started his apprenticeship as a luthier ten years ago. After finishing his apprenticeship, he studied guitar making in Markneukirchen and refined his skills during various internships and workshops. Before he moved into his workshop in Leipzig at the beginning of 2019, he worked for a violin maker for several years. From his workshop, he builds instruments inspired by both the German and French tradition.
This Schebesta is a modern-built concert instrument with an exciting concept. It is made with a spruce top and wenge back and sides, an African wood with excellent hardness and density. Due to its very beneficial acoustic properties, wenge is one of the preferred woods of many internationally renowned luthiers. The superb craftsmanship of this instrument is not only evident in the beautifully crafted purfling and rosette. Crisp basses and the sweet, airy treble make playing this guitar a true joy. Not to forget the first-class playability thanks to the pleasant neck shape. At the same time, the lattice bracing not only provides a more responsive soundboard, but also supports the right hand and results in an overall powerful and expressive instrument.
