Description
Dutch Luthier Otto Vowinkel started making his first guitars in 1984. While at the beginning he was mainly inspired and motivated by the book ‘Classic Guitar Construction’ by Irving Sloane, he soon designed his own models, which reflected his preference for traditionally built guitars. He got to know the Dutch luthier Alex van der Horst (1959-2009) also named “Alejandro” around that time and both men shared their ideas about the ‘ideal guitar’: flexible tone, quick response and the quality of sound as the carrier of volume. A regular cooperation between the two men began and O. Vowinkel became a luthier with a great eye for detail, whose name is well-established in the world of classical guitar. Among others, Vowinkel guitars are played by classical guitarists like the Amsterdam guitar trio, Sanel Redzic, Denis Azabagic, Tariq Harb and George Sakkelariou.
This gorgeous concert guitar built in 2015 is free of cracks and repairs and wears only a few minimal playing marks on the top. An impressive power and volume are released by this traditionally built instrument. Moreover, the body size is slightly smaller than average, which combined with the perfectly profiled neck results in an overall very comfortable guitar. To sum up, the guitar’s generous, enchanting, and well-rounded tone combined with great playability make it a splendid instrument.
