Description
Richard Jacob Weissgerber has built around 3500 instruments of unique beauty. During the first years he also sold instruments to middlemen, which attached their own labels to the guitars. This Torres-Model from the later period was made in 1927 and corresponds to the typical Concert-Model of the late 1920’s. Miguel Llobet said about his guitars: “This is one of the few German guitars with a Spanish sound”. A special feature of those models from this time is the characteristic rosette consisting of ring patterns. The rosette is made of ebony and galalith. From 1933 onwards, most soundholes were only bordered by simple wood shavings. The top of this guitar is made of spruce and back and the sides are made of maple. The neck is that was made by Christoph Sembdner in the tradition of Richard Jacob. The neck is made from mahogany and is colored black. Also the head consists of mahagony and has an attached head plate on its front-side. A beautiful guitar in mint condition and has no repairs and no cracks.
