Description
The guitar workshop “Santiago de Cecilia” was founded in 2003 by María Cecilia Saenz Rols and Juan Santiago Canals. Both of them studied and worked in different workshops where they learned the very special skills of guitarmaking. Their workshop is located in Barcelona, Spain. In fact, they are inspired by the traditional Spanish lutherie and the “Santiago de Cecilia” guitars are built following the Spanish heritage.
This newest special model is the first one to be offered outside of the Santiago de Cecilia workshop and it is beautiful and neat. The rosette is unique with dark and warm colours. The head is also very interesting with its central carving as well as a contrast between the matt and varnished parts. Moreover, one can notice that the headplate-windows are very narrow, in the style of Manuel Ramirez.
What an open and powerful sound. This guitar combines both an explosive character and a lot of sustain with plenty of space for expressiveness. The sound is rich and warm, with exciting dynamic possibilities. Overall, it is a very impressive guitar, both powerful and easy to play.
