Description
Sebastian Stenzel constructs guitars since 1989 when he began an apprenticeship at the workshop of Gert Esmyol. He finished this apprenticeship in 1991 and focused in the following years on the development of his own guitar model. In 1996 he finally opened his own workshop in Munich. Shortly after, in 1998, he was awarded as part of his master’s certificate with the master price of the Bavarian state government. As a lecturer in “theory of guitar making”, he has taught since 2002 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Since 2011 his workshop is located in Emmendingen. In accordance with Sebastian Stenzel’s sound ideal, he makes guitars that have “have sonorous, floating basses, a warm, creamy mid-range and lyrical, singing trebles. The sound should offer the musician all possibilities of sound shaping and dynamics, without being obtrusive.” (Quote: S. Stenzel).
