Description
Stefan Nitschke learned the art of guitar building under the guidance of Gerhard Oldiges. Over the last 15 years he has built a wide variety of instruments with a focus on aesthetics and tonal balance. The influence of the great masters of the 19th and 20th century, such as Antonio de Torres, Francisco Simplicio, can be found in the subtlety of the sound of his guitars and in the finesse of his skills.
This superb guitar, named “La Fuensanta”, is a pure masterpiece. By choosing, highest quality and rare woods Stefan Nitschke has created a colourful and harmonious work of art. Back and sides are made of Rio rosewood (CITES-certified) varying in the colour nuances from dark chocolate to vivid orange. Stefan Nitschke’s excellent aesthetic taste is once again reflected in the ingenious positioning of the distinctive orange feather-like pattern at the back joint, which is perfectly centered. In addition, the spruce top offers a myriad of transverse reflections, showing the exceptional quality of the wood. Fine-grained “bear claw spruce” is particularly appreciated by many German luthiers for its excellent sound characteristics and often results in guitars with a wide, open sound.
This guitar of outstanding personality is quite exceptional. The resonance frequency is slightly below F, which gives it incredible substance and responsiveness in the basses. Tuned with the 6th string in D as well as in E, this guitar has a deep singing and silky bass. The trebles, on the other hand, are smooth and playful, with a very spontaneous character. The great general playability of this instrument adds once again to the pleasure of the guitarist. As a result, this guitar is splendid both in its construction and in the elegance and depth of its tone.
