Description
Tamara Stahl is a young and very talented luthier who completed her apprenticeship at the instrument-making school in Mittenwald. Her model is a classical guitar, created through experience and guidance with various guitar builders and the study of numerous instruments. The construction of the top is a seven-fan bracing with a continuous arching which gives the thinly crafted soundboard the necessary stiffness and is also aesthetically in harmony with the raised fingerboard, which facilitates playing in the high registers.
This guitar was inspired by the warm, round, and sweet sound of traditional Spanish-style guitar. That is how this seven-fan bracing classical guitar with spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides came into being.
Some words from Tamara about this instrument:
“To give the guitar power and sustain, I decided not to make the top and back too delicate. By adding a slightly heavier bridge, the top does not lose its ability to vibrate, resulting in a singing, powerful sound. Meanwhile, the neck is reinforced by an ebony strip.”
This fine instrument has a spruce soundboard and Indian rosewood back and sides that express warmth and balance in its acoustic properties. Although this guitar has modern features, such as an elevated fingerboard to improve its playability, it still maintains the art of traditional Spanish guitar-making at its finest. This instrument shows firm, thick basses matched with bright and glossy trebles with a lot of alluring sustain. Also, the coherence between the voices is in perfect balance. This guitar is highly responsive, with enough power for all kinds of concert situations, and quite vigorous without being overpowering. Considering all aspects of this instrument, it is a true bargain for the player who looks not only for the impeccable sound, but also the pure beauty of exquisite craftsmanship, or in this case, craftswomanship.
