Description
Thomas Dauge is a French guitar maker located in Bordeaux. He is building guitars following the French tradition and shows a very strong talent in the creation and the construction of the rosette and other marquetry details. Thomas Dauge is giving a lot of care to every detail of the instrument: the wood selection, the quality of the French polish, the cleanness of the joints, etc. Most importantly, his researches are led on the sound qualities of his guitars. He achieves to build very balanced guitars with a complex timbre and a great ease of playing.
This Guitar, no. 126, has wonderful CITES-free Muninga back and sides with a gorgeous flamed maple piece on the back’s centre. This guitar is surprisingly light for its huge volume and incredibly direct projection. It has inviting trebles and deep free basses. The balance between the different registers and the sustain of each note in the chords makes it a very fine concert instrument. The guitar is all French polished. A hard-shell case is included.
