Description
Tobias Braun was born in Holzminden, Germany, in 1960. Shortly after, his family moved to Perchtoldsdorf near Vienna, Austria. In 1983 he built his first concert guitar, and a year later, he completed a course about guitar-making taught by José Romanillos. A second course followed in 1988, and the third course in 1989. In the same year, he completed his master’s certificate in Vienna. Tobias Braun has dedicated himself to the traditional Spanish guitar-building school. Many of his guitars are models of famous masters such as Santos Hernandez and Manuel Ramirez.
Tobias Braun is one of the few guitar makers with a long history with the Romanillos family. This instrument results from an excellent understanding of Jose’s instrument, particularly the 2012 Jose L. Romanillos, on which this guitar is based. Tobias has successfully created a beautiful reminiscence of the original through this instrument. The gorgeous spruce soundboard is decorated tastefully according to Jose’s guitars and executed to the highest level of craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the striking Indian Rosewood back and sides complement the look of this guitar to the next level. Acoustically, this guitar represents the broad color palette of Jose L. Romanillos’ guitar. Not only that, but it also has the overall feel of the original.
