After this successful scientific career, Vladimir Druzhinin moved to Moscow as his passion for music took increasing importance in his life. He eventually switched to lutherie as his main occupation around 2010, as he apprenticed with the Russian luthier Timofey Tkach. Vladimir Druzhinin quickly became one of the most successful Russian luthiers, building elegant instrument showing a great influence of Spanish Masters as Antonio de Torres and Manuel Ramirez. His guitars are light and responsive, excellent on both acoustical and aesthetical levels.
What a beautiful guitar! This stunning instrument is the first one that we receive from Vladimir Druzhinin, and certainly not the last. With its beautiful spruce top, displaying an authentic honey colour, and its elegant Madagascar rosewood back and sides, it is both an eye-catcher and convincing design in the Spanish tradition. From the guitarist’s point of view, this guitar’s tone is incredibly quick and bouncy. The responsiveness of the soundboard and the overall energy that emanates from it are incredible. Moreover, with its well-proportionated neck and relatively lightweight, this guitar is a real pleasure to play.
