Description
Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been building guitars since the age of fourteen. He was born in 1951 in Dortmund, Germany, the son of a guitar maker, where he grew up with guitars at an early age. Over the years, he developed a great passion and expertise for this instrument. Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been living and working in China for several years, where he builds handmade guitars of astonishing quality in a small manufactory.
The guitar built by Wolfgang Jellinghaus is a stunning instrument modeled after the 1912 Manuel Ramirez guitar used by renowned classical guitarist Andres Segovia. Structurally, it is a replica of the original but with some modern touches. The soundboard is made from spruce, known for its rich, warm tone, and the back and sides are crafted from pau ferro, a wood known for its bright, clear sound. The French polished soundboard and lacquer back and sides add to the guitar’s aesthetic appeal and contribute to its exceptional sound quality. Despite its cost-efficient price, this guitar has a powerful sound with warm tones and an array of beautiful colors. It is a truly remarkable instrument, crafted by a master guitar builder’s team with years of experience and passion for the craft.
