Description

Andrea Tacchi was born in Florence (Italy) in 1956 when the city was flourishing with artisan workshops and artists’ studios. This very stimulating environment and meeting the South American guitar maker Ricardo Brané drove him to become a luthier. In close contact with Robert Bouchet and Daniel Friederich during the 80s, he developed his craftmanship and artistic tastes. Later, he kept learning from other important guitar makers, such as Ignacio Fleta, José Romanillos, and Robert Ruck, traveling in person to the United States, England, and Spain. Andrea Tacchi’s absolute mastery was generously and legitimately rewarded. He received early on in 1985 the first prize in the prestigious international guitar making competition, the “Concours International des Facteurs de Guitare” organized by Robert Vidal of Radio France. From there on, global recognition by guitarists and collectors led him to build a waiting list among the most impressive in guitar history. As a result, the number of legendary guitarists, prestigious professors, and young generation concerts who play Andrea Tacchi guitars. To name a few: Carlo Marchione, Carlotta Dalia, Antigoni Goni, Renata Arlotti, Filomena Moretti, Flavio Cucchi, Robert Gruca, Colin Davin, Minoru Inagaki, and Marcelo Kayath.

The “Omaggio a Maestro Robert Bouchet” model by Andrea Tacchi, a revered Italian master-luthier, stands as a magnificent tribute to the unique aesthetic and tonal qualities of Robert Bouchet’s iconic instruments. This 2014 creation exemplifies Tacchi’s exceptional craftsmanship, immediately evident in every aspect of the guitar. It features a shellac polish in a warm hue that accentuates the beautifully grained spruce top, a testament to Tacchi’s meticulous selection of premium timbers from his exquisite stock. The attention to detail in this guitar is unparalleled; each tiny aspect is meticulously crafted, reflecting Andrea’s artistic prowess and dedication to his craft. Despite a superficial thin crack on its Brazilian rosewood back and sides, a common occurrence in fine guitars, which has been expertly glued and remains purely aesthetic, the guitar is in great condition, showing only minimal signs of play.

Acoustically, this Tacchi guitar is a marvel, characterized by beautiful and brilliant trebles that resonate evenly across the entire register, enriched with particularly long sustain and impressive sound projection. The full and rich basses lay a solid foundation in the guitar’s tonal spectrum, creating a sound that is both balanced and captivating. This guitar is much more than a high-quality musical instrument; it is a piece of art, showcasing the luthier’s ability to combine superior playability with visual elegance.
