Walter Verreydt - Gitarrenbauer
Walter Verreydt baute seine ersten Instrumente im Jahr 1985. Als Lehrer für Holzbearbeitung und als Musikliebhaber war es ein logischer Schritt, sich für den Bau von Musikinstrumenten zu interessieren. Seine Leidenschaft für den Klang der klassischen Gitarre trieb ihn zum Gitarrenbau.
Von Anfang an hatte Walter die Möglichkeit, die Arbeit von renommierten Gitarrenbauern wie Bouchet, Fleta, Hernandez-Aguado und anderen zu studieren. Er hatte auch gute Kontakte zu bedeutenden Gitarrenbauern wie Daniel Friedrich und José Romanillos. Dies war eine reiche Quelle an Informationen. In Granada lernte er die elegante und raffinierte südspanische Gitarrenbautradition kennen.
Seit 1988 unterrichtet Walter den klassischen Gitarrenbau am Centrum voor Muziekinstrumentenbouw in Puurs (Belgien). Neben den notwendigen Grundlagen versucht er, seine Schüler zu einer Affinität zum Instrument und zur Handwerkskunst zu bringen.
Die Gitarren werden in spanischer Tradition handgefertigt. Jedes Instrument ist das Produkt von persönlichem Wachstum und ständigem Studium. Daher können sich Details zwischen den Instrumenten unterscheiden, wie z.B. die Form des Kopfes und kleine Änderungen in der Form des Korpus.
Alle Instrumente werden aus sorgfältig ausgewählten, hochwertigen Hölzern gefertigt, die über 10 Jahre unter besten Bedingungen gelagert wurden.
Die Rosetten werden in kleinen Stückzahlen in persönlichem Design gefertigt. Sie werden aus Buchsbaum, Ebenholz, Ahorn, Mahagoni, Palisander und Obsthölzern hergestellt.
