Description
Ángel Gómez de Guillén is a Spanish guitar maker living in Murcia, located in the southeast of Spain. As an enthusiastic guitarist, the transition to guitar making was an obvious one for him. Working with great established Spanish guitar makers such as Carlos Juan Busquiel, Stephen Hill, and Oscar Muñoz, he gained a vast knowledge of the complex tradition of Spanish guitar making. Ángel Gómez de Guillén now builds guitars in his own workshop, working very traditionally following the example of the great masters before him. His guitars are very responsive, have a precise tone and generous volume.
This guitar, built in 2021, comes directly from Ángel’s workshop. The top of this traditionally built instrument is made of beautiful bear claw spruce. Back and sides are made of Indian rosewood and sonically this guitar reveals a mature and voluminous old-world sound. Moreover, the neck with a rather thin C-shape is particularly comfortable and allows a very relaxed hand position and thus effortless playing even during longer sessions. Tonally, this excellent Spanish guitar convinces with velvety trebles and responsive basses.
