Description
Fritz Ober was born in Rosenheim in 1955 and learned to play the guitar at an early age. He built his first instruments in the 70’s based on guitar building books. Later he trained with the instrument maker Helmut Buchsteiner and initially focused on the construction of lutes. According to his own statements, the skills he acquired were decisive for his approach to guitar making, which was inspired by old masters such as Antonio de Torres.
The 2017 Fritz Ober guitar represents the zenith of luthiery, a masterpiece preserved in pristine condition that highlights the luthier’s unmatched skill and attention to detail. Its back, crafted from CITES certified Brazilian rosewood, not only enhances the guitar’s visual allure but also significantly contributes to its sonic depth, offering a tonal richness that is both rare and captivating. The guitar’s profound D air resonance, a result of its meticulously crafted traditional seven fan bracing, orchestrates a symphony of sounds. From the deep and elegant basses to the trebles that sing with a sweet clarity, this instrument invites players to explore a vast array of musical expressions, navigating through landscapes of sound that few guitars can genuinely provide.
