Description
This very interesting guitar was built by the Swedish luthier Heikki Rousu. Heikki has been building guitars since 1990 and has crafted more than 300 instruments by now. This special instrument is an eleven-string guitar, also known as alto guitar or Bolin guitar. This extended-range classical guitar was developed by the Swedish luthier Georg Bolin in the 1960s and has been largely popularized by guitarists Per-Olof Johnson and Göran Söllscher.
This great 2022 model, with the number 425, shows an amazing and harmonically rich overall sound. It is designed to play lute music with guitar technique and thus offers fascinating possibilities for guitarists and, due to the extensive sound range, also a completely independent sound world. Especially those guitarists who strive for an authentic approach to pieces by e.g. J. S. Bach and S. L. Weiss will be thrilled by the manifold possibilities of this hybrid guitar. It is tuned g d a f c G F Eb D C B, thus a third higher than a traditional 6-string guitar, and offers an impressively abundant and resonant sound.
