Description
Jean Marquet is a young and aspiring guitar maker from Belgium whose enthusiasm for the art of guitar making and his craftsmanship are promising prerequisites for first-class guitars. He received his professional training at the CMB in Puurs, Belgium (Center for musical instrument building), a school with a great reputation, from which many first-class luthiers have emerged.
This model by Jean Marquet is based on a German guitar from 1937. A particularly striking detail is the hazel spruce top, which displays beautiful grain and accentuates the overall classy and elegant design. This “Belgian beauty” also has a lot to offer in terms of sound. This traditionally built instrument is comparatively lightweight and as a guitarist, one gets very direct feedback from the entire body when playing. It is a classical guitar with great sound volume, impressive bass, crystal clear trebles, and an abundance of overtones that give the guitar a full-bodied and interesting sound character. It is a great pleasure to play this guitar, not only because of its great playability but also because it rewards the player with many timbres and inspiring musical moments.
