Description
The Ramirez family has been building fine and high-quality guitars since 1882 already. Their instruments have been and are played by some of the greatest guitarists in the world, such as Julian Bream, Andres Segovia, Laurindo Almeida, Oscar Ghiglia, Jose Luis Gonzales, and many others. Ramirez is an important part of the history of guitar building. Jose Ramirez I (1858-1923) trained a large number of guitar builders in his workshop at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century. And José Ramirez III (1922-1995) was a pioneer in the use of cedarwood as top wood for guitars and built several guitars for Andres Segovia.
This 1965 José Ramirez III Guitar is a musical masterpiece and is a testament to the superb craftsmanship that has emanated from José Ramirez III’s workshop, cementing its place as a true pinnacle of guitar-making history. Boasting the esteemed 1A label, synonymous with first-rate craftsmanship since 1957, this instrument illustrates the unwavering commitment to quality that has become the hallmark of the Ramirez brand.
The guitar’s enchanting light orange colour cedar soundboard merges flawlessly with the luxurious, CITES-certified Brazilian rosewood body. This perfect blend creates a stunning aesthetic allure while enhancing the haunting tonal resonance that these guitars are known for. With lyrical trebles and enigmatic bass notes, the instrument produces a captivating sound that inspires musicians and engages listeners, delivering an unrivaled musical experience.
Despite the superficial hairline crack on the upper bout treble side, the guitar’s sound quality remains uncompromised. Far from detracting from the guitar’s appeal, this minor imperfection adds an authentic charm, telling a tale of its rich history and careful preservation. It bears testimony to the guitar’s longevity and the meticulous care that has gone into preserving it over the years.
The 1965 José Ramirez III Guitar is more than just an instrument; it’s a prized possession with remarkable historical significance.
