Description
Jost von Huene is a German guitar maker born in 1979 and is part of the new generation of German luthiers. His interest in guitar-making led him to undertake an apprenticeship in Wolfgang Amann’s workshop, where he learned the basics of the craft. He then went on to further his studies at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen in 2003, where he gained advanced knowledge and skills in guitar making. In 2007, after completing his master’s degree, Jost von Huene opened his workshop in Dresden, Germany, where he started producing high-quality guitars. His guitars are known for their excellent tone, playability, and attention to detail. In addition to running his workshop, Jost von Huene has been teaching the art of lutherie at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen since 2012. He has been passing on his knowledge and skills to the next generation of guitar makers, helping to ensure that the tradition of fine German guitar-making continues.
The 2023 Jost von Huene guitar is a beautiful instrument with exquisite construction details that harken back to the traditional styles of Torres and Arias. The spruce top has been expertly aged to give the guitar a unique, vintage look, while the delicate purflings rosette adds a touch of elegance and refinement. When it comes to sound, this guitar delivers in spades. It’s stable, reliable, and offers a vast sound that’s smooth and easy to play. The top bracing comprises a light fan bracing design and two additional tiny diagonal transverse bars. This innovative design delivers exceptional power and projection while providing excellent sustain and tonal colors. This guitar is a harmonious blend of traditional and modern aspects of sound and construction, resulting in a breathtakingly beautiful instrument. Overall, the 2023 Jost von Huene guitar is an outstanding instrument that impresses even the most discerning musicians.
