Description
Since 1991 Juan Manuel García Fernández builds guitars in Granada. He studied under the master guitar makers Miguel Carmona, Jesús López, Manuel López Bellido and Rafael Moreno. In 2003 he has his workshop in the centre of Granada. His instruments are very easy to play, have a sweet sound and are very balanced.
The guitar is built as a Campo y Castro copy from 1896. When inspecting the instrument it is built with a delicate finesse, full of small artistic choices that makes it beautiful and inspiring to play on. Its timbre is very sweet with an array of shimmering overtones much present in early romantic instruments. Built with an even grain spruce top and high grade Indian rosewood back and sides, the volume is surprising coming from such a small body. Sustain is more than enough for all kinds of repertoire. The old style pegheads are easy to tune and stay in tune very well. A hard-shell case is included.
