In 2015, Luca pursued formal education at the Civic School of Luthiery in Milan, under the guidance of Lorenzo Lippi and Fabio Bonardi, where he earned his diploma. Following his graduation in 2019, he refined his skills through an internship at Aldo Illotta’s renowned workshop. In 2020, he established his own workshop in his hometown of Galliate. Luca’s work is characterized by a blend of traditional craftsmanship and innovative design, aiming to meet the needs of contemporary guitarists. His meticulous selection of woods and his attention to aesthetic detail are hallmarks of his instruments. In 2024, Luca showcased his creations at the Roma Expo guitars, marking his debut as an exhibitor. His work continues to draw inspiration from the great luthiers of the past while incorporating unique aesthetic touches that make his guitars distinctively his own.
The guitar stands as a distinct departure from standard production models, reflecting a meticulous selection of woods chosen for both their aesthetic appeal and mechanical properties. Indian rosewood, seasoned for over 30 years, forms the back and sides, enhancing the instrument’s resonant quality, while the soundboard is made from torrefied Italian red spruce, known for its vibrant tonal characteristics. The guitar’s decorative aspects boast a refined and clean aesthetic, with careful attention to the color interplay among the different wood types. Maple and ebony bindings and purflings frame and accentuate the dark tones of the selected woods, enriching the visual allure and echoing the intricate pyramidal pattern at the heart of the rosette. The neck is crafted from quarter-sawn cedar, providing stability and a smooth playing surface, complemented by an ebony fingerboard and headstock cover. A classic French polish finish completes the instrument, giving it a lustrous sheen that not only protects but also enhances the natural beauty of the woods.
