Description
Manuel Reyes was born in Jayena (Granada) on July 18th 1934. Before making his first guitar he started very early to play flamenco guitar. He started to restore old flamenco guitars and later to build his first guitar by his own. The result was not very satisfying for him so he decided to search somebody who could teach him how to build a guitar. He met the flamenco guitar maker Joaquín Sanchez Galisteo who was willing to teach Reyes. Finally in 1949 Manuel Reyes decided to open his own workshop. The start of a fantastic career as a luthier. Today Manuel Reyes is known for his excellent workmanship and his guitar for the typical Andalusian flamenco sound. All over the world his guitars are played by the best Flamenco guitarists like Vicente Amigo. This is a very nice 1962 Manuel Reyes with spruce top and back and sides made of cypress.
