Description
We are pleased to present our first guitar by the fascinating luthier Mijail Kharash. The Russian guitar maker has had a very interesting journey, from Leningrad where he was born, to Israel after the collapse of the USSR, to finally settling in Spain where he learnt the wonderful craft of as a luthier. It was in contact with John Ray and José Vigil, among others, that he developed masterful woodworking skills and immersed himself in the intricacies of the Spanish hand-made guitar tradition. Recently, Mijail’s dedication was rewarded with second prize in the Antonio Marin Montero guitar-making competition.
This high-quality Spanish guitar has a beautiful spruce top and a back and sides made of precious Madagascar rosewood. It has a very airy and responsive sound. The tone is fast, with a warm soft colour and a playful character. One can truly appreciate the singing qualities and harmonic capacities of the classical guitar with this mature and remarkable instrument.
