Description
Ricardo Meirinhos established his workshop in Oporto, Portugal, in 2010. His passion for guitar making, and in particular for the great masters who have influenced the history of the classical guitar, is reflected in Ricardo’s production of replicas. Using the traditional Spanish method inspired by José Luis Romanillos, he created beautiful replicas of Robert Bouchet, Antonio de Torres, Daniel Friederich, and many others. Since Ricardo Meirinhos is a civil engineer by profession, his production is limited and only three guitars a year leave his workshop. Therefore, Ricardo builds each of his guitars with extreme care and great dedication.
This magnificent copy of a guitar by Antonio de Torres is remarkable in many ways. Its slightly smaller sized body offers a very immediate sound response. This increases the ease and joy of playing manifold, and the proximity to the instrument creates a special connection between the guitar and the musician. Listeners also receive their full enjoyment, with a rich and precise sound that develops a dense harmonic cloud of sound. It is a very nice replica, from a not yet very well-known but very promising guitar maker.
